Spring sunshine has shed it’s light, and with warmer weather comes Miss Shirley’s NEW Spring Menu, which will debut at all locations on Thursday, March 30th!
This Spring, Corporate Executive Chef Brigitte Bledsoe and her culinary team have kicked it up a notch with some savory & sweet starters that are sure to Wake Up Your Taste Buds! Spice things up with a few House-Made Shrimp Gritters. This new starter consists of 5 Gritters filled with Blackened Shrimp & Pimento Cheese, encrusted with seasoned panko breading and fried, garnished with local Huckle's Late Harvest Jalapeno Aioli.
Looking for a Maryland favorite? As a spin on traditional Maryland Crab Dip, the new Chesapeake Crab Dip Skillet features Jumbo Lump Crab Meat, Corn, Tomato & a Five-Cheese Blend, to create a cheesy & delicious start to your meal! Other additions include Cheddar, Peppadew & Green Onion Buttermilk Biscuits served with House-Made Strawberry & Rhubarb Jam; BBQ Chicken Deviled Eggs; and Buffalo Fried Pickles.
Everyone loves a delicious starter, but the new Spring Entrées are equally as appetizing! If there is one thing that Shirley’s is known for, it’s a unique and delicious Benedict; and the new Cornmeal-Encrusted Soft Shell Crab & Succotash Eggs Benedict is sure to satisfy this season! Another new addition to Shirley’s House Favorites is the sizzling Southern Skillet, which incorporates Fried Buttermilk Boneless Breast of Chicken Pieces on a Cheddar, Peppadew & Green Onion Buttermilk Biscuit with Collard Greens made with Tasso Ham, Stone Ground Grits with Diced Bacon, Chesapeake Chicken Sausage Gravy & Cheddar Cheese, topped with a Sunny Side Up Egg, and served in a cast iron skillet.
Miss Shirley’s is also happy to feature Lighter Side menu options on the Spring Breakfast & Lunch Menu, including the Skinny Shirley, which is a Crustless Egg White Quiche made with Grilled Salmon, Asparagus, Tomato, Capers & Lemon Zest, served with Mixed Greens & garnished with Lemon Herb Aioli. Another lighter side option is the new Spinach & Asparagus Salad, which features fresh Spinach, Asparagus, Tomato, Cucumber, Watermelon Radish, Pecans, Farro & Feta Cheese with Lemon Vinaigrette and Trio of Croutons.
You’ll also want to take a Big Bite out of the new Cobb Chicken Salad, which is made with Roasted Corn & Green Onion, Applewood-Smoked Bacon, Bibb Lettuce, Red & Yellow Tomatoes, Avocado Mash & Creamy Bleu Cheese Vinaigrette on Ciabatta; or Spring into Summer with the Fresh Lemon Dill Shrimp Salad, packed with Fresh Shrimp, Bibb Lettuce, Red & Yellow Tomatoes, Avocado Mash on Multigrain.
Then wash it all down with a House-Made Cocktail, like the new delicious Southern Ruby Sangria, with Three Olives Pink Grapefruit Vodka, Champagne, White Wine, Triple Sec, Splash of Club Soda & Fresh Grapefruit Juice, garnished with Grapefruit Slice & Mint; and the much-loved Strawberry Lemonade Mojito has returned for the season.
